If you value your life and the life of others DO NOT HIRE KENNETH LIPPARD OF BRUIN BUILDS. We took him to court June 22nd 2023, case # S23-0026J5 for building a two story barn apartment while disregarding building regulations resulting in a hazardous and unsafe build. The two story apartment had started to collapse, and anyone unfortunate to be inside would be hurt or killed, especially as we had a HVAC unit installed on the second floor. We won the case of course, but as yet we still have not received a penny from Kenneth. We had to pay another contractor to demolish the whole build as it was a deathtrap. Kenneth used inadequate materials for the job resulting in the walls bowing in by THREE inches. Kenneth was informed and shown these violations and agreed to our request for compensation. He then refused to answer phone calls, emails, texts or letters. These are SOME of the issues discovered from an inspection. Kenneth used 2 x 4’s not 2 x 6’s for 10 foot high walls. Ceiling joists were caving in under pressure as Kenneth used 2 x 6’s for a 16 foot span when 2 x 10’s must be used. No door headers were used to transfer load. When building stud walls, no more than 2 top plates must be in place, if more used it will cause pivot points. In this case there were 3 causing the wall to bow out. Stairway ceiling joist was not anchored to supporting wall but held in place by only 2 screws into hollow brick. Floor joists on 2nd floor must be framed in with caps to hold joists in place and to keep them from turning over, this was not done. Upstairs bedroom wall had no support to keep wall from pushing inwards or outwards. It was free standing. That’s not all, an inspection from a master electrician discovered and testified in court that there were several unsafe electrical code violations that could have led to loss of property or life. If anyone wants to know more, we have all the documentation and photos which we presented to the judge. Do your homework and don’t hire this guy, he is dangerous! Check out yelp, Heidi R, Denton, TX took him to court and won. February 26 2024, case # C23-2268J4. Another victim!

Bruin Builds: The Real Deal for Office Renovations When it came time to renovate my office, I knew I needed a crew that wouldn’t just get the job done but would do it with precision and no-nonsense attitude. Enter Bruin Builds Handyman —they’re the real deal. From the first walk-through to the final touch-ups, these guys brought their A-game. They didn’t just slap a fresh coat of paint on the walls and call it a day. We’re talking about a full transformation. They handled everything—replacing the flooring, installing custom shelves, updating the lighting, and making sure the whole space flowed like it was meant to. And yeah, they did it all without breaking the bank or dragging their feet. These guys respect your time and your wallet. What really sets them apart? Attention to detail. The crew took every idea I had and made it better, bringing a level of craftsmanship you don’t see every day. By the time they were done, my office wasn’t just a place to work; it was a space that felt like it had been tailor-made for me. If you want a job done right—and done with a level of skill that’s hard to find—Bruin Builds is the only name you need to know. They’ll handle your renovation like pros, and they won’t quit until it’s perfect. Trust me, these guys are worth every damn penny.

WARNING! Bruin Builds Handyman will take your money and never show up to do the work. When I put down a deposit, I was told he would begin my project within a couple of weeks. It has now been over 6 weeks and there has been little to no communication. The only time anything has been communicated to me is when I reach out with an ultimatum. He has taken my savings, and my mom’s (who contracted separately with him, and is on a fixed income). Do not be scammed like I was.

Kenneth and his guy knocked it out of the park. Trimmed my tree branches out of my driveway, Fixed my dryer(wouldnt heat up), installed a ceiling fan in my new office(go covid), and replaced my old deadbolt with a new keypad one. They were done, cleaned up and gone before I thought twice. Kenneth-Bruin builds is my new go to for all things home related. Cant wait until he can get my mister system installed so I can enjoy my patio without cooking
