G and C Contracting

Buyer beware! We hired Jerry Conklin of G & C Construction in Pittsburgh first week of November 2019 to repair our gutters (where mice are getting into our attic) and replace a front porch as an extension of our home. Jerry came out same day we called for an estimate. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and seemed to have a solid track record of recent work scrolling through his photo gallery on his phone. My wife and I were sure we'd found 'the guy' for this project and the several other jobs we have in store on our home. Then we paid him the 1/2 deposit ($3,500) up front and everything changed. While committing to show up for work often, Jerry finds every reason in the book why his plans changed and he couldn't make it out for work. 4 weeks into the project that was committed to be complete 1 week from start, we have seen Jerry for 0.5 days of work completed. Jerry still commits to showing up, but never does. So my wife and I have found ourselves stuck with a demo'd porch (total mess) and mice still entering our attic behind gutters. We've made multiple attempts for resolution with Jerry. Getting nowhere and preparing to brief our attorney. Spare yourself a similar experience and do not hire Jerry Conklin or G & C Construction!
