  | Air seal and re-insulate attic to code with an R-49 level of cellulose insulation | Jul 2018 | The initial problem was that the upper floor of the home was much warmer than the rest of the house during the summer, and during the winter the furnace seemed to run constantly. Insulwise's solution was to first air seal all of the hidden penetrations in the attic floor with foam to prevent conditioned air from leaking up from the house. We then built a raised storage pad for storing the home owners spare items. Finally a thick, effective blanket of cellulose insulation was blown in. The result was the upper floor was far cooler during the hot summer months, and the furnace ran much less during the winter. Cooling and heating bills went down about 30%. | $3k | Pittsburgh, PA |
