Reflecto Glass Inc

When we called to have an estimate done for our master bath it took many phone calls & a missed appointment before the owner showed up late with an employee. The owner measured the space & drew pencil marks/arrows where the glass would be installed. The estimate was a good price & we liked the product & design. The day of installation one worker showed up without the supplies necessary to complete the job. As he walked through my living room he noticed we had thick rubber padding (our belongings were piled up there as we were redoing all rooms) he grabbed them to rest the glass on. He then needed a step ladder, when I told him I didn't have one he spotted an antique wooden step stool that I use to put plants on. Even though I told him I didn't want him to stand on it because I didn't think it was sturdy & I would be upset if it broke I basically had no other choice because he could not install the 1/2 glass wall without it. There definitely should have been 2 people, he clearly struggled. All in all he did a good job installing the glass & we are very happy with the product; however, when he left I noticed black markings next to the toilet completely in-line with the pencil drawn arrows on my travertine tile. There were also 3 deep digs in the tile in my bedroom where he had placed equipment. We had our contractor fill in the digs with grout; however, being a natural stone floor I could not remove the black marking - you cannot use chemicals or abrasive cleaners on natural stone. The marking looked like it came from some type of tool. We called Reflecto Glass to complain & could not get a call back. After many tries we were finally able to text them pictures of the mark. They claimed it had nothing to do with them but they would send someone to look at it. We made it very clear that we weren't looking for anything but a remedy to get the mark off - we were still going to use them for our guest bathroom. We had an appointment where the employee never showed up or called even after I text them letting them know I was waiting around for them. After texting again a few days later I got a message that the owner would come out. Then nothing. My husband then scheduled the owner to come out to do the estimate on the guest bathroom so he could also look at the mark. Only way we could get them there! The owner showed up, measured for new glass & proceeded to check out the mark. He insisted the mark was not made by them. He proceeded to basically call me a liar & wanted to know how I knew it wasn't there before. I explained to him that I live there and see the work our contracter does every day. I explained how the mark was in-line with the arrows he drew & he told me he never drew the arrows. At that point I told him the conversation was over & he needed to wait for my husband. He continued to basically harass me about how I was wrong but I wouldn't continue. My husband showed up & again he basically said we were liars. My husband was furious as he watched him make the pencil marks. He was so insistent that he didn't make black mark when he wasn't even there during installation - how could he know if his employee could have made them? Terrible customer service. All we really wanted was an apology & a way to get the mark off. I even told him if I was able to get mark off myself I never would have complained. He was rude, talked over us the entire time & refused to take any responsibility. Ultimately my husband kicked him out & in the end I was able to get mark off after I decided to try a non abrasive cleaner I use on my glass stove. I would NEVER recommend Reflecto Glass after witnessing the owners response to a customer complaint. All he had to do was pretend he cared & he would have had our continued business.
