Worth the long read !!!!!!!! My daughter In-law Gabriella and son David requested service from Mr Appliance around 10/23 (Fri) on a speed Queen washing machine (100$ service call.) The tech came out to the house (11 Hughes St Savannah Ga) never opened up washer panel for service and after ~ 5 mins reported clutch has failed and repair estimate to be in excess of 700$. When my Son David called me ( Calvin -Retired Maintenance Manager Southern Nuclear) and discussed what tech reported , I immediately Call Mr Appliance and requested another tech to come back and diagnosis properly and no additional service cost. The lady said see had spoken with her operations manager and would send tech back at no additional cost AND was not satisfied the 100$ service charge would be refunded. The same tech came 10/26 (Mon) and after removing front service panel reported to my son that the belt was worn and transmission was faulty with repair cost estimate to exceed 700$. My son called , I drove to Savannah , loaded washing machine and took to my local Clarke’s Appliances in Vidalia Ga . Within hrs he found drive belt broke and belt idler damaged. He replaced belt and idler at a cost of 128$ which included 55$ service call , I return Washer to 11 Hughes st Savannah Ga and placed in service 10/29 with no additional problems. I called Mr Appliance requesting 100$ refund, at which time I sent a copy of the diagnosis a repair bill from Clarke Appliance. Mr Appliance rep reported they would call me back, after serval days of not receiving a call, I called and was told I need to resend repair bill receipt which I did. I was told a refund would mailed. After a week of seeing no refund, I call Mr Appliance again and was told check was being mailed that day 11/20. Today is 11/30 and still no refund check. Not sure if we’ll ever see refund which is a trust worthy and integrity issue which is major flag to me. Bottom Line Summary Facts Below 1) Tech representing MR Appliance of Savannah Ga does not have the skills to properly diagnosis speed Queen washer on two separate occasions 2) Person identifying herself as office manager on two occasions stated she and/or operations manager would call me back and did not about refund. 3) Person answering phone at Mr Appliance stated check was mailed 11/20, no checked received at this time 11/30.
