The Repairman

I am truly sorry Mr. Owen was disappointed in his experience with our company. That is not a typical experience by any means. In-fact if you click on this link http://call-the-repairman.com/testimonials/ you will find a true reflection of the experience our customers have with our company. Additionally, if you go to HomeAdvisor you will see reviews there that mirror the link I have provided herein. There is a proverb that states, "The first one to plead his case seems right, until another comes and cross-examines him." Mr. Owen wrote, "The technician cleaned our fireplace but it would not work after the cleaning." The reason it would not work afterward is because the customer couldn't get it to work before and we were there to assess that also. When we performed an analysis we found that it needed a new pilot assembly and the customer apparently chose to not order the new parts. If he had we would have returned to install those parts once the customer had received them. Mr. Owen wrote, "Our water heater valve was fixed but the technician shut off the main water valve and broke it trying to reopen it." This is true but what Mr. Owen doesn't tell you is that the main shut-off valve that is on the house side of the City water meter had seized up. The tech then shut off the City shut-off valve and after fixing the pressure relief valve on his hot water heater my tech went to turn it back on the handle on the City valve broke off. The short of this is that the City came and realized it was not our problem and fixed the valve at no cost to the customer. The "additional fee to fix the water valve" in-fact was not a "fee". It was a charge to fix for the valve (not the labor) to replace the main shut-off valve that is on the house side of the City water meter that had seized up. A home inspection service could verify this and would have required the repair before a new homeowner bought the home. Mr. Owen wrote, "a bad experience with the owner taking no responsibility for his technicians actions." I, the owner never talked to Mr. Owen. I did discuss, explain and resolve matters with Mr. Owens wife. If his wife didn't discuss and convey what I stated to her, I can do very little about except to state that I am willing to speak to Mr. Owen to try and answer his questions and could have done that privately rather than in this public forum. Again, I am truly sorry Mr. Owen was disappointed in his experience with our company. I am also sorry Mr. Owen forced me to respond to his review when all of this could have been answered and resolved privately.
