About Wolkinger
Barbara Wolkinger was born on June 1st, 1971 in Graz, Austria. She graduated from college in Graz as a gilder in 1996, and did her apprenticeship restoring baroque and gothic cathedrals. This involved extremely high scaffolding and literally "hanging from the rafters" to work on intricate details of these complex restorations. Her field of work included gold- and silver leaf applications in the water gilding and oil gilding technique.
