Don't hire Mark Pluijmen, Dutch Masonry!. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! My wife and I were scheduled to have Mark rebuild our chimney from the roof up. We are also in the process of having our roof replaced and were trying to coordinate the chimney work before the roof work began while trying to work around the wet weather. After weeks of excuses and promises from Mark as to when he would start, he informed me "We are unable to further assist you with your chimney project! Thank you, Mark Pluijmen". This has left us in a very bad position to start our roof replacement. Now we have to start all over to find a mason and start at the bottom of the new masons list. Marks reason for dismissing us was he "didn't like the way the email communication was going". I asked was it because we expected him to keep his word and expressed our disappointment in his putting us off several times? He said we had no signed contract and no deposit was paid. I reminded him he never asked for one. We feel we did have a verbal contract with Mark. Don't hire this man! His integrity and word mean nothing. He has handled this job in a very unprofessional manner. What it comes down to is he didn't need our work anymore because we became to discerning for him — trying to hold him accountable to his word. When I told him I intended to leave a bad review, he laughed and said nobody reads this reviews. Please prove him wrong.
