Our basement sump pump malfunctioned during the torrential rainfall of early December. Within a few hours, several inches water had accumulated covering the entire 2,000 square foot space. We called several companies who perform water damage services and were told it could be 2-3 days before they could assess the damage. Upon the recommendation of our insurance agent, we contacted ServPro of Southwest Portland. Daniel Spark had the necessary manpower and equipment in order for him to promptly respond. He arrived at our home within 45 minutes, dispatched a crew to extract 1,000 gallons water, moved furniture to our garage, and had 25 fans and 3 dehumidifiers operating within 2 hours. Without Daniel's immediate response, it wouldn't have been possible to salvage the carpeting and pad, plus a good portion of furniture. Daniel, Melinda & Randy orchestrated the entire process to perfection. They were at our home the first night until 10 PM, arrived early the following morning and monitored the drying process 2-3 times each of the next 4 days. Upon completion, Daniel's crew replaced and cleaned the carpets as well as moving all furniture back to the respective rooms. Insurance coverage is limited for flooding related to sump pumps. We estimated our out-of-pocket expense could have been in excess of $30,000 to replace the carpeting, pad and much of the furniture. Due to the efficiency of Daniel and his ServPro of Southwest Portland employees, all furniture was saved and our insurance covered nearly the entire cost of their services. As with many homes in the Southwest hills, ours has underground springs resulting in a high volume of water during heavy rainfall. We've now installed a battery powered backup sump pump system. Daniel showed up with a crew and quickly went to work to protect my 110 year old hardwoods that had just been flooded. It was a Sunday and I didn't think that anybody would be available to help me. Fortunately, my insurance company called Servpro. It took about a week of drying and the machines were really loud, but I couldn't have asked for a more helpful group of people. And Daniel's relaxed demeanor really helped reassure me that I hadn't just ruined my condo forever.

I had water damage in my kitchen from the upstairs neighbor. Though I didn't contact Servpro directly, the general contractor I hired did. And I am really glad for it. Daniel and the team were knowledgeable and very professional. They answered all my questions and even provided additional information that I didn't think of. If the need ever arises, I will definitely be using them again.
