Stepping into the Comfort Zone

Jul 2013

Amid the dramatic architecture of this 1980's custom home, it's second story master bath seemed to have been overlooked. The area lacked warmth, continuity, style, rhythm, and customized personalization. It had never been a comfortable place for our homeowners. The plan was to personalize their bathroom by altering the ceiling to minimize the distracting angles, increasing the overall space by changing the entry, relocating and personalizing the shower, and designing customer his/her vanities complete with specific amenities. Many challenges during this project were met and conquered. The existing attic trusses had to be altered, heat lines were run throughout, intricate tile work designed and laid, and very explicit features were creatively incorporated within the handcrafted cabinetry. The remodeled master bath now confidently holds its weight in comparison to the remainder of the house. This bathroom has become their coveted hide-away haven to find comfort and rest.

Barn Theater

Aug 2008

A one-of-a kind designated multi media area was our client's dream wish. The location for their dream's fulfillment was their 15 year old barn that stood alone on a hilltop rarely used. The barn was attempting to be a specific entertainment area for our clients growing family, however the space was drafty, leaked ran, lacked character, natural light, and a welcoming appeal. Our customers desired such a major change for this potential theater space that it would powerfully possess a dramatic draw on all the senses. They wanted to have the ability to completely black the interior space for ultimate movie watching, and provide the most powerful 7.1 speaker sound system available, with all technology remaining virtually invisible. As well, they wanted to maximize the view of their property, by increasing the natural light, while leaving the north wall windowless. The character of a barn was not to be lost in this extremely invasive and contemporary renovation.

Rustic Simplicity

Sep 2006

To provide for a relaxing, country get-away, our commuting metropolitan clients purchased a real historic find. However, the interior of the 150-year-old field stone structure did not fit their style. Several previous additions and add-ons had left choppy and fragmented results. A need for symmetry, smoother flow and creating more efficient use of space was prominent. They also specifically desired the simple, pure, clean lines of their minimalist tastes, with hints of period charm strategically placed throughout. What was only once imagined is now reality. With a nod to modernism, this stately century structure boasts of total renovation inside and out. Historic, rustic charm has been successfully blended with the innovation and sophistication of the city. The results of this unique union creatively compliment each other. With one step into the past and another step into the future, our clients are walking ecstatically in pure delight.

Renovated Kitchen in Bucks County

Jun 2006

The old kitchen left out clients frustrated and restricted by their dark, confining, limited and impractical country kitchen that did not fit their entertaining lifestyle. Their desires involved being able to comfortably host large groups of people in a bright, efficient and spacious eat-in room, while boasting a southwest motif, complimenting the decor of the rest of their home. The outside wall originally housed the sink, stove and cabinets, but this wall was removed. The dark stained paneling was replaced with ceiling high cabinets in warm blush maple, giving the allusion of more height and a backsplash of vividly contrasting Mexican tile became a focal point. A double access island was strategically placed providing increased storage and work space and more importantly, creating an inviting entertainment area. The main goal of this project was to maximize the openness while providing adequate structural support, and this goal was accomplished.

Kitchen Renovation in Erwinna

May 1999

Deep window sills, winding staircases, small, cozy, secluded rooms were all typical of homes built a century ago. Our client's home, patterned after that era, and it displayed all the same features. The smallest of rooms happened to be the all important kitchen, which developed into a most interesting and finely detailed project. Our clients needs and desires were broad and well communicated. They wanted additional countertop and cabinet space. They also wanted a large enough kitchen to eat in, take advantage of the natural scenic view and enhance their entertaining life style. Their desire was to see these needs addressed and yet have an easy flowing floor plan and a warm and welcoming custom design that would compliment the architecture of their present home. Upon completion of this most detailed project, the needs and desires of our clients were greatly exceeded. The new kitchen addition flows smoothly with the present structure and enhances the value of the home. The highest compliment came with an invitation to an open house, celebrating a job well done.
