Amen, to Meri's review. Stay away from this person and the people he subcontracts to (which he leaves on site and they are non speakers of the English language or they seem to be, you cannot communicate with them. Mike does not communicate either, he just does something and then tells you, it needed to be done. Asking for cash in hand is a no, no, no when it comes to Mike. He should be taking off from the Word Construction because someone will have to reconstruct what he messes up. Stay Away if he says he can save you money from the others. Meri could write a good book on this experience. Don't trust. Hard to give him a rating as a business. He is a human.

Magic Mike - now you see him, now you don't. Mike is an incredibly nice guy but a terrible businessperson with no morals. Roof replacement, addition of two dormers and gutter replacement took nearly 5 months and was never completed. Throughout the project Mike would disappear for weeks at a time offering a myriad of lame excuses only to return and require an additional payment (cash only) before he could continue. Then he would disappear again and reappear with no warning a week or so later to do the work. Additionally, three different subcontractors showed up at my door asking me to pay them. Before disappearing for good, Mike left piles of old supplies and gutters in my yard requiring 4 trips to the dump. All the time, whenever he was on site, he would continually try and upsell me on additional projects. After begging me to pay him early before the job was complete, Mike disappeared for good. Because Mike never completed the project, I had to hire a second contractor to complete the work and repair his careless mistakes after dormers did not pass the engineering inspection. I trusted Mike as he came recommended from a neighbor and hope by sharing this review I can protect you from people like Mike.
