We had our deck Built back in June by KC Deck Services. We were ecstatic to have our new deck done so we could enjoy the outdoors without having to be exposed to the elements as much! Unfortunately many corners were cut and as young homeowners we haven’t been exposed to these things before. The deck itself is either uneven or the storm door was installed improperly, it gets caught when opening and won’t close unless you pull down on the handle. Along with whatever “bracing” ontop of the door was not cut to proper length so they just used extra long screws and really drove them in deep into the wood. Almost all the connecting corners are not actually squared off and will have to be replaced eventually, theirs exposed screws just sticking out. The gaps throughout the entire deck are all over the place and in some spots just seem like they didn’t want to make another cut since they messed up the first one. Whenever the crew had damaged and destroyed a brick from our fireplace they had came back to fix it, and we thought that was that, however it appears they just left half of a screw inside of it because they couldn’t bother to remove it and replace it properly. Their were a bunch of other smaller issues with the build itself that aren’t notable enough to mention. It’s very frustrating when you invest tens of thousands of dollars into something and the quality isn’t there. I’m not sure why our deck was mistreated when it appears most people have had great experiences however this is how we were left.

BEWARE OF THIS CONTRACTOR!!!!!! They took >$15k (half down) of my money promising to build my deck. They strung me along for 5 months saying they were still waiting on supplies. A month later they told me that they were still waiting on supplies and that the railing got sent back to the manufacturer because they didn't pick it up in time. After one more month they told me that they were still waiting on deck boards. I then found out that the order they placed for my deck boards never got put on order because their credit card got declined so there never were deck boards coming! The next week I received an envelope with a check in it for my >$15k back and no explanation why and they will not respond to any of my e-mails, text messages, or calls. They waisted 7 months of my time and cost me 7 months interest (>$3k) on the loan I had out for it to be built!!!!! Please avoid this contractor unless you would like to be conned like I was!

Stay away from this company. Jared, the owner of the company, took my money without completing the work. The deck did not pass the inspection and he did not come back to fix the issues. Very poorly build deck including uneven stairs. It is a horrible experience...

Jared and Crew built us a beautiful new deck. Jared communicated when they would begin the project and updated us regularly throughout the project (which was done in record time even with not so great weather). Hard working, professional and accommodating.
