Tennessee Design owner is a person of integrity. Mr. Tennessee started in our home to do a kitchen remodel. We were so impressed with the process and the workers he had. We had him do an entire house remodel. It truly was a process but finally it is finished & we are so pleased. He helped us bring our vision to reality. We love our resort. Our kitchen, 3 bathrooms, restored & installed all the floors , all the doors in/ out, front porch, & walk way, patio installed, upgraded lights, fans, & painted the house This was a trying year for everyone but patience & understanding we are all humans, helped us establish a relationship that he is like family. I had the same problem with Tennessee Design. Never ordered or installed interior cabinets. He did however have to place plastic couplings in all the cabinets that were drilled through to cover the holes. We are filling a civil claim to recoup part of the 21,250.00 this costs us. Do yourself a favor and call another company.

I hired Tennessee Designs to renovate my kitchen after purchasing a home in the Richmond area. The planning went well initially, and the outcome of the work continues to be of very high quality. Unfortunately, the process did not go as smoothly as anticipated. I was disturbed by the fact that I had to review, repeatedly, the details of the remodeling with the designers who seemed to forget details about the cabinetry, etc., and I had to work hard to make certain all of the details were correct. I don’t believe the home owners should have to work that hard when paying lots of money for a new kitchen. Cabinets were installed very quickly but without the interior detailing. The interior detailing had to be ordered (spice rack, cabinet drawers, trash bin holders). My question: why wasn’t the interior detailing ordered at the same time as the cabinets and installed at the same time? There was a week-long wait while the cabinet interiors/accessories were ordered and delivered and then another wait for the cabinet installers to return. I have a feeling that the cabinet installers were perturbed and could not find a time in their schedule to return to install the accessories. I kept being told that the installers would come on Sunday, then Tuesday, then Thursday, then another Sunday, and I finally voiced my dissatisfaction with the situation. I can only surmise that if the cabinets and their interior detailing had been ordered properly, the length of the kitchen renovation would have been cut by two weeks and my peace of mind would have remained intact. I believe that the main problems with this renovation and with Tennessee Designs were: inattention to detail, poor communication, and poor follow-up. The entire project could have been accomplished within three weeks if everyone paid attention to detail, communicated well, and followed up frequently. It is extremely uncomfortable to be without the function of a kitchen and the supreme focus for the designers/installers should be quick turnaround for the owners who are paying tons of money for a new kitchen.
