Richies Refinishing

Richie gets one star for charm, the rest would be a negative. Last year after downsizing homes, we hired Richie to refinish oak cabinets. We were duped! After many months Richie and his team finally showed up. The cabinets were painted, THE FIRST time, in February, Within a few weeks the beading started peeling and cracking. If you ran a finger across them the paint chipped right off. Richie said it was the paint, he took the cabinet covers back in March, returned them and they looked great. Three months later, however in June the cracking and peeling had begun again and like a virus has spread. My husband and I have rehabbed four homes, Richie's work is not good craftsmanship. He has once again said it is the paint, it is not, The cabinets were obviously never filled, sanded and or cleaned with the right degreaser. When we contacted Richie in September, he promised us he would make it right. He has not. He didn't show up again and again and he always, always has an excuse. It is now December and he has no intention of either refunding or money or doing the job correctly. We are out $3675, the cabinets will have to be refinished AGAIN, and it seems not by Richie. Be smart, find someone else or a good lawyer.
