Scope: Prep, prime and spray 2 finish coats on custom built-ins, applied 2 finish coats to walls Products used: Porter Silken touch matched to Sherwin Williams Moody Blue (walls) & white to match clients current trim work. Final thoughts: Putting a rich color on the minimal wall space allowed the built-ins and wainscoting to really be a focal point.

Our process included sanding, priming, and spraying. Additionally, our carpenter installed faux panels to the upper cabinets and three sides of the kitchen island; this added an incredible depth and achieved that custom look. As for color, we used two coats of Sherwin Williams Pro-Classics matched to Porters Horseradish 315-1.

Transforming a great room that was feeling a little 'dated' and didn't match the updated kitchen. We prep'd existing woodwork by sanding to scuff surface and wiped down with a de-glossing agent. Applied a custom matched Old Masters get stain to blend all woodwork to match the kitchen cabinets (in attached area with open viewing). Once stain was dry, applied 2 coats of Zar water based alkyd satin polyurethane. Ceiling and walls were also painted to freshen up the area. Once the new carpet goes in, customers will have a brand new room!

A big part of any quality exterior painting job should be to make sure that what is under the paint is healthy and strong, not just hidden. If rotting or damaged wood is ignored, it creates larger issues down the road and really makes painting pointless! Think of it in terms of a car with a rust problem; the trouble spot needs to be removed, replaced, and repaired before it can be successfully painted and brought back to looking like new. We recently were asked to repair and paint some exterior trouble-spots around a home in Ballwin, MO. Nate, our estimator, visited the property and took notes as he assessed the issues.

We applied a base color to entire room in each room and let paint dry overnight. On second day we laid out horizontal stripes in one room and chevron stripes in the other. Tools needed included a straight edge measuring stick (I used a 60"), 4' level, pencil and 1.5" Frog Tape. Once layout is determined, a light pencil line is scribed to show the layout. I mark the stripes I intend to paint with an X so I apply tape properly. The lines are then taped (just shy of pencil line so it is covered when painting) with Frog Tape to allow for paint to be applied on areas desired. Depending on the size of the stripes, an appropriate roller cover is used to paint the most efficiently. With a brush and 9" roller, I cut in my corners and rolled out the stripes. Once paint had tacked up (dry to touch), I applied a 2nd coat of paint. Tape should be pulled while 2nd coat is wet using caution to not let tape touch wall while removing. Let the wall dry fully and there you have it.
