Agreed, DO NOT hire Shawn. DO NOT hire Shawn. DO NOT hire Shawn. He walked out on us on day 2 of 6!!! Brought brushes wet with paint from another job to ours, to clean at our house. We paid money for paint and tape, plastic and you couldn't buy new brushes to use at our house?? Brought ceiling paint from another job he was doing at Conklin in Shakopee. Came to the house twice to see the job and measure. Did not think he bought enough paint, and indeed he had not bought enough paint. On the Yelp Website it says he has been painting for 17 years. After that amount of time, you should know how much paint to buy. Was late both days, after he indicated a couple of times in his emails that he would be there at 10am after dropping his son of at school at 9am. During his an my husbands heated discussion, Shawn mentioned that he keeps the pricing comfortable for people, and then on the same hand complained that if he charges less his family doesn't eat. You make the price Shawn not the customer. When my husband told him to put booties on his red Nike street shoes, he said the booties would get dirty. Was washing out his paint sprayer for 10 mins in the kitchen sink, when my husband asked him why the water had been running for so long, Shawn said he was washing the sprayer and would need anther 30 mins to keep washing it. NEVER asked us if we would want him to wash it out in the laundry sink. Brought paint brushes from another job still with wet paint on them, expecting to wash them at our job. My husband told him just paint, there isn't enough paint was his response. There were 4 gallons of paint present at our house at this time, start painting. Shawn said he did not feel comfortable in our house and had to leave. Where you not comfortable because we wanted you to be on time?? He kept apologizing. Said he was 41 years old repeatedly, so what. Who cares how old you are. Told my husband he should be his manager, hello you are working for us!! Entire conversation was on video. Later that night whilst my husband was texting Shawn, again said he was 41 years old. We paid him ahead of time for supplies and half the labor, reasonable if he would not have been late or walked out. He was in our house for a total of 13 hours, of an agreed upon 6 day project, from 10am-5pm. DO NOT hire Shawn. DO NOT hire Shawn!! DO NOT HIRE!! Walked out on a disabled vet and his family the week before Christmas. DO NOT hire Shawn. DO NOT hire Marshawn Jackson, 41 years old

Please do not hire this guy. I hired him to stain my deck. The first day he said he needed electricity and said he couldn’t do the work. However, he didn’t tell me, just left. I was in the house and we do have an outlet outside. He complained about how long the deck was taking him and that he hadn’t quoted me for that. He did not communicate during the entire project. He left parts of the project undone, areas still taped off, and trampled our plants. He said, what do you expect me to do? Levitate? I asked him to come back and inspect the project with us when he was done and he refused and argued with us on the phone. Do not use him. Very unprofessional.

Couldn't have asked for a more seamless process between our request, free quote, and the project being completed. Shawn was very helpful and accommodating aside from doing a fantastic job. Will be recommending Fresh Paint by Shawn going forward. Would definitely hire him again for any project, big or small.
