Hired Eric/S&S to build our beach house. Took 2+ yrs was still incomplete We had to finish it ourselves. Was NEVER on the job- starting with the slab pour done wrong. Numerous leans on the home. We now r having to take down ceilings and reinsulate because it was never properly sealed & now there is mold everywhere. That is just a portion of the problems in this house. Additional 100k in repair and we keep finding more. No trades will work with him. Nightmare.

BUYER BEWARE is understatement! We contracted S & S Custom Homes and Remodeling to build our custom retirement home in January 2018. We were informed that the house would take 6 to 8 months to build. We moved in 14 months later because we forced them out with ultimatums. Needless to say the timeframe was the minor part of the whole unprofessional experience. The timeframe was prolonged due to unqualified unsatisfactory workmanship. Handyman can only do so much before the professionals need to be contracted and hired. When building a custom home you assume the quality of the products going into the home are higher than low grade apartment. Unfortunately, with S & S this is not the case. We confronted the owner of the company, Eric, said custom means custom layout not higher quality products within the home. His budget calculation proved this process correct and does not make sense. From the $600 ceiling fans allowance to a lighting allowance of $600 to the choice of ONE paint color is minor to the stressful hair pulling experience of the low grade products they would have put in to our home. We assumed a custom home would include higher quality products. All of this compiled with the multiple requests to have things done correctly the first time compiles to a very dissatisfied customer! Let's not even get started on the construction process before the finishing touches starting with major gaps in the framing, to twisted boards, to electrical not being to code all compiled in multiple delays. We hired an outside inspector who wrote his review that tied with his top inspection report of 36 pages! Over 3/4 of our framing had to be pulled out. This compiled with the lack of being on the job site created for multiple delays most of the time contractors/handymen would arrive at the job site at apx 10 AM followed by a long lunch with departure by apx 3/3:30 PM. This compiled with not scheduling professional contractors, septic and the well to be drilled until the very end of the construction increased delays in the process of building the home. Let's not forget about the closing checklist which 12 months later still has not been completed nor even started. Including the painting of the outside of the house. Yes, the outside painting was scheduled once but Eric decided that the amount paid at closing was not enough and sent us a bill. His reasoning was after closing he figured out he neglected to add somethings to his final closing paperwork. Unsure what he thinks closing documents are for. Although when handing over the keys he did inform us verbally that he neglected to put our refund amount in the closing documents and that he owed us a check. He refuses to give us the amount due. That's our fault as we did not press it prior to closing. Honestly we just wanted him out we were so frustrated at the time! Lets not forget about the well drilling company putting a lien on our house because Eric the owner of S & S decided not to pay them with the funding disbursements from the building of our home. When asked about this he said he needed the money to start another project or to pay for more pressing bills. I forced him to meet me with a check made out to the drilling company and I hand-delivered to the company that was over an hour away. Unpayment of bills is just unprofessional! Warranty is a joke! When we call him for warranty work he neglects to contact us back just as he did during the building process. When we do contact subs that were contracted for our home they laugh and inform us that they are no longer doing business with S & S. Thus, there are several things that we have paid additional for as we now own a home and need to make it right. If Porch allowed pictures I would have posted that are part of the visuals of what the home looked like during the building process. Unkept areas! A moat that went around our home that was over 3 foot deep. Workers would have to walk across planks of wood to do their jobs. This moat & the piles of trash and/or items pulled out of the home do to an unsatisfactory building codes lasted for the majority of the building process. It was quite embarrassing! And unprofessional! We could not even enjoy the build of our new home! My warning to anyone is BUYER BEWARE! FYI The lots next to us is being build and the 2 adjasent lots are for sale! I have missed feelings about this 1. I really want someone to buy these lots so we don't have to live next to a minefield and a back business gate. 2. I really don't want anyone to ever go through what we had to go through in the process of building our new home. 3. I just want S&S gone so we never have to see his business trucks again! No matter what I would say if you decide to do any business with S&S Custom Home & Remodeling BUYER BEWARE!

S&S Contracting Services did a wonderful job on the ceramic floor installation in my home. I love the way the tiles were artistically laid out. The job was affordable, end-product looks very professional, and the work was done in a timely manner. I would happily recommend S&S to anyone. Thank you for a job well done! I will be keeping you in mind for my next home improvement.
