Kosher Kitchen | Nov 2013 | Committing to a Kosher Kitchen can be quite an undertaking ; when you are also taking on a complete remodel, it can be overwhelming. A Kosher Kitchen is a type of kitchen that prepares food according to the requirements of the Jewish law. The term kosher is derived from Hebrew language which means proper or pure, and is used to conform to strict Jewish law pertaining to preparation of food. You should consult with your Rabbi for a list of rules and guidelines . Recently completed Kosher Kitchen remodel in Carlsbad, CA. Through my research, I have learned that having clear guidelines would be helpful to make a Kosher Kitchen remodel as easy as possible KOSHER KITCHENS BASIC GUIDELINE AND REQUIREMENTS If the space and the budget allow, two distinct kitchens within one space is the most desirable design. Bathroom Remodel | Nov 2013 | My client wanted a bathroom that combined rustic and refined with traditional and modern artifacts throughout. The traditional bathroom remodel adds classic and elegant features to this beautiful bathroom makeover. The walls are enhanced with a wall covering making the vanity wall the main focal point of this master bathroom. The vanity cabinets are Dura Supreme knotty alder with a glaze to enhanced all the details in the wood. Creative tile patterns In this master bathroom can be seen, were we used a basket weave pattern on the tub splash and shower floor breaking up the tiles lines which keeps the neutral tone tiles more interesting. | $30k | San Clemente, CA | |
MIXING TAUPE WITH RUSTIC ELEMENTS FOR A MODERN COASTAL KITCHEN REMODEL | Nov 2013 | This client had a desire to keep the existing layout and update the materials. Combining beautiful materials with practical functionality, this California kitchen uses cabinetry stained in natural inspired finish for a beachy feeling. This wood stain/glaze combination falls into the taupe family, a grayish brown neutral that blended perfectly for this coastal kitchen. Portobello stained and highlighted cabinetry adds an organic feeling, that seems to be trending at this time. While the quartz countertops and didgeridoo clay dots mosaic-tile backsplash provide blending neutral backdrop with a whimsical feeling. Accented on the wall connecting the kitchen and the dining room are rustic wood Planks stained with a cabot semitransparent stain. Supported by modern stainless steel corbels. Adding a pop of color with purple and turquoise accents in this beachy kitchen. The wall paint is from the Martha Stewart collection called Sharky. The Delmar Remodel Winner NATIONAL l Coty Awards 2013: Residential Bath Over $60,000 at JDR; Interior Designer Bonnie Bagley Catlin "Residential Bath Over $60,000: For a couple sharing a master bathroom in the home they have owned for more than 30 years, a sense of separate space was essential. They wanted a modern organic aesthetic with earthy simplicity. Space planning was critical for this master bath, created from the existing bathroom plus room borrowed from a little-used landing. Distinct areas for the husband and wife mirror each other with pleasing symmetry and create the sense of personal space the clients desired. Floating vanity cabinetry is an architectural element that establishes a light, open feeling. Quarter sawn oak cabinetry displays a subtle, complex texture. Dramatic slab travertine in the shower is reminiscent of the surrounding sandstone hills." Designed by a unified team consisting of now Independent Interior Designer Bonnie Bagley Catlin.
