Born into a community of Architects, Electrical Engineers and Electricians that worked on residential & commercial, I knew I was supposed to be a designer when I was 15 years old. When I was 16 I attended the Interior Architecture early college program at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago, then received my Bachelors in Interior Architecture and Product Design from Kansas State University, attended the Architectural Association in London, and well the rest is history. To date I am a member of the American Society of Interior Designers, hold 11+ years of experience designing spaces, residential furniture/seating/lighting and bring this knowledge to my projects. My home product designs have been published widely. My current work focuses mainly on residential and boutique commercial. You can find out more about me at rachelblindauer.com

EICHLER CASUAL COLOR POP | Mar 2014 | A family finds a new home in San Francisco. The client sent off their furniture and boxes in a truck headed to San Francisco and then went driving on a family cross country vacation. While they were on vacation Rachel Blindauer met with the movers and had everything they shipped placed in the home and landed on the design scheme. This classic Eichler home was designed for casual living in a multi color palate with a focus on on navy and grey. The owners love of Greece finds it???s way into fiber cement objects and the natural wood bookcases create further texture. The outdoor courtyard becomes a place of entertaining and play with the children???s teepee. The blank canvas in the kitchen became a family activity and a social event with visitors. | San Francisco, CA |
