Flowerbed Creation | Sep 2014 | We removed section of lawn with shovels and edging tools. Ground was leveled and cleaned of roots. Weed barrier was laid and metal edging was installed over fabric. Fabric was trimmed so that it protruded from bottom of edging, ensuring an effective barrier to keep grass from creeping into the bed. Slits were made in fabric and holes were dug for plantings (rose bushes). Black mulch 3-4" thick was laid over the fabric. Weed barrier remains effective as of 4-18-15 and has needed very little maintenance since installation. | $340 | San Marcos, TX
Flowerbed Creation - Kyle TX | Jun 2014 | 4 bushes were already growing next to front of house with no barrier or ground cover. Homeowner wanted to create flowerbed with old railroad ties and plant a new Japanese Boxwood in between two spaced-out existing bushes. Grass was removed and area under bushes was prepared with shovels and edging tool. Weed barrier fabric, and then railroad ties, were placed around bushes and holes were drilled at each end and middle of railroad ties. 1/2 inch rebar pins were hammered 12" into the ground through the railroad ties. Bushes were fed and watered thoroughly. | $320 | Kyle, TX
Gravel path repair - Gardens of Milwood, Austin TX | Jan 2014 | Parts of Austin received over 20 inches of rain in January 2014, washing out many landscape elements. This section of path in the Gardens of Milwood neighborhood in Austin had been severely eroded by intense rainfall. Cost was a concern for the neighborhood association, so it was decided that as much of the original gravel would be used. Several cubic yards ($250 with delivery) of additional decomposed granite were brought in and dumped near the work site. Over 2 days, gravel was wheelbarrowed in, leveled, and packed down with tampers. | $680 | Austin, TX |
