Scott Medeiros was born and raised in San Jose, California. His painting education started at a young age when he began working in the family business painting interiors & exteriors of homes & apartment buildings. Within a short time, Scott had developed the skills and thoughtful dedication to be given the responsibility of painting furnished interior living spaces as well. In the early 80's, Scott moved to Florida and worked for a large company that trained him to paint 40 story beach condos from a swing stage. His 5 year education in Florida also included, special waterproofing projects, power washing, killing fugus, and power washing roofs. After 5 years, Scott moved back to California and joined the Painters and Tapers Union. After 4 years of training and educational courses, Scott became a Journeyman Painter. He worked on large commercial and industrial projects including, painting roller coasters, airports, shipping yards, shopping malls, apartment complexes, hospitals and schools. He developed his skill and knowledge of special coatings, industrial enamels on metal, and waterproofing decks, etc.... In 2000-2002, Scott became involved with the massive Santana Row project and eventually became a foreman responsible for his crew of 10 men and women. When that project was completed, he began working on a new building that was constructed for UCSF's stem cell research department. Scott and his foreman were in charge of all aspects of preparation, priming, color application, and spraying from the start of construction of building #3 (of 25 - QB3) until its completion. When Scott finished with the UCSF building, he was assigned to the Mandarin Hotel (which occupies the top 11 floors of 48 story 345 California Center office in the financial district of San Francisco), where he completely renovated the walls and ceilings in each of the 151 rooms. Scott was the designated spray man who sprayed all 151 rooms himself from floor to ceiling. His additional, numerous duties included removing wallpaper, reapplying wallpaper, sanding and painting walls and woodwork...... While working in the interior of the hotel, another contractor observed Scott's fine attention to detail. With his vast knowledge of his trade, and with Scott's prior experience painting from a swing stage, he was hired as a spray man for the exterior of the hotel. Scott's job was to restore the aluminum frames on all windows on the 48 story building from the ground up. This required him to clean off years of smoke, tar and soot, then grind off decay, prime with epoxy, and finish with special epoxy. This project took 3 years. Please see photos. Scott then repeated the same process of restoring aluminum windows on the Facebook office building on S.California Ave, in Palo Alto, California. Scott remained in the Union until 2009, when he decided to become a licensed contractor. To this day, he specializes in residential and commercial properties. All jobs large and small, in modest and affluent neighborhoods. His recent jobs have included installation of crown molding, deck restoration, drywall repair, and special artistic faux finishes.
