Handyman - Saratoga, WY
Let me help you make your home the way you want it. I started in contractor as a flooring specialist 35 years ago. Since then, I've worked on every kind of home project. My biggest job was a 60x120' indoor riding arena that I put on our 3 acre horse property in Saratoga, Wyoming. Most of the jobs I do for my customers are small repairs, fixing leaky bathroom and kitchen fixtures, moving lights, repairing drywall. Let me tell about some of my work. I have completely restored a 5500 square foot 130 year old mansion that is divided into 6 apartments, and two 100 year old houses. In the process, I have added gas Rinnai wall furnaces and 2 direct vent fireplaces, redone most of the plumbing including a boiler with the old style cast iron radiators, refinished hardwood floors, built partitions, retiled the kitchens and bathrooms, built decks and a brick patio, poured steps, xeriscaped, installed stackable washer dryer hook-ups in 4 units, repainted, recarpeted, built porticos, removed trees, built fences, reroofed, resided, replaced doors and windows, and done just about anything else you can do to a house. There are hundreds of pictures on my Facebook page. What needs done at your place? I enjoy consulting. I like to use what's there and incorporate it when possible to save money. I am not afraid to make collaborative decisions with home owners as the project progresses. I can do most of the work, but I like to call in specialists too. Even if you hire someone else and just want to have someone look over your ideas and make suggestions, give me a call. I passed the general contractors license in 2012, but I was a licensed flooring contractor in Utah in the 1980s where I raised my young family and earned my bachelor's degree. After moving to Fort Collins and obtaining a master's in Marriage & Family Therapy from CSU, I did private practice counseling in Rawlins, Wyoming for over 20 years. My mode of operating as a counselor, especially with teenagers, was to take them on a project site and teach them a skill or two, pay them a few dollars and talk while their hands were busy. Doing therapy, the kids got healthier, and I was able to hone my skills in construction at the same time. What's more therapeutic for teens than good, hard, honest work? Please take a look at my Facebook page where there are lots of pictures of my past projects. Wyoming isn't much for landscaping, but since moving here to Nebraska I've done lots of it--water features, retaining walls, tree rings, stone steps, sprinkler repair-- and I truly enjoy it. You'll also find pictures of bathrooms I've redone, decks, patios, sliding door replacements, sheds, fence repairs, tree removal (less than 18" diameter), tile showers (including one in my Saratoga house with real stone artifacts--arrowheads and stone knives and flakes from the Red Desert), my riding arena, old building demolition, and lots of floors--carpet, tile, vinyl, laminate, hardwood and LVT. I'd love to talk with you about your project ideas. Projects by Dan Pont--that about sums it up. 402-885-5611
