Select Wood Floors

Very disappointed in myself for trusting Scott based on the recommendation of our home builder. I should have known to get a written estimate before I authorized the work to begin. The quote that I was given was over a text message and ranged from $750-$1100. When I saw the amount of wood that was replaced (which I provided most of it that was left from the home builder) and the amount of time that the 2 - tech's were on the job (about 7 hours total, including the many smoke breaks), I was surprised to see an invoice of $950.00. When I asked Scott for an itemized copy of the invoice, he replied "the reason I don't itemize per say is that some would argue that techs are not worth the rate they receive." This was right after he told me that his techs were here for 18 hours. When I questioned him on the hours that his techs were here, his reply was "I'm confused/tired. I may have your details with another client mixed up." In summary, he couldn't account accurately for the labor time and material that he provided and if I had to guess, just provided in invoice with a dollar amount in between his texted quote. I am not saying don't do business with Scott, but be sure you know what you are getting into prior (written quote).
