Gil Cartier

We just cannot say enough good things about Gil Cartier. If you are doing any sort of home improvement job, Gil is the guy you want. We recently renovated a completely gutted house in Hampton, NH. We used multiple contractors for different parts. Gil actually took the final phase of the project and worked for months to get us to completion. The projects included: ++Installation of laminate flooring through the entire house which included 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living room and bathrooms. Gil had to make modifications to the bathroom floor to keep it level with the rest as the bathroom was a different laminate. No issues. Prior to installing the floor, Gil framed out and installed a bathroom closet door that framing contractor neglected to put in. Although it was on the plan, he did not do it and was one of the reasons we let him go. Gil fixed it. And I can not emphasize enough that having a good contractor you can trust is HUGE. ++Installation of all of the trim for the windows, doors, and all other interior trim. The picture box window frames that Gil made are just outstanding. They pop!! All are clean and this was not easy feat given that the windows (13 of them) were all different due to how the house was built or the window was installed. No issues for Gil. Actually, we were buying the materials and Gil gave us the orders which were spot on. For the doors, Gil had to reframe or square a few where the prior contractor just mismeasured and did a poor job. No complaints or issue. Gil just did it and the doors are all great. As a favor, Gil installed our screen door for a very cheap price when Lowes told us that the included installation was going to need to be custom and cost us hundreds more. ++ Painted the entire interior. All walls, ceiling, baseboards, trim. All with no mess and looks great. We put a high gloss in the closets which he now says he will recommend to folks. ++ Kitchen cabinets. Gil installed all of the kitchen cabinets which look great. We had uneven walls and dimensions and all were put in properly. We had some rework with moving pipes or bad measurements . All was handled well. ++ Gil handled a number small items to insure we got the CO. He installed beam supports in the basement. Attached the poorly installed original electric box to the cement wall, and most difficult of all, he installed the dryer and bathroom external vents by having to find the pipes buried in insulation left by the last contractor. Overall, Gil was the best help we could have asked for on a very custom job. Gil cares about his work and looks to add value. As we got to know him, over the few months, we grew to appreciate many above and beyond things that he did for us. One day we showed up and the muffler on our truck had come off. Gil dropped what he was doing, called his friend at Meineke and got us fixed in 3 hours. It is important to note that we are from PA and we were making these renovations from a distance. We found we could trust and rely on Gil for alot. When the Plumber left us high and dry on installing the gas dryer and kitchen sink and garbage disposal, Gil just jumped in and helped. Although I started to work it by hooking up he dishwasher, Gil jumped in and took over and did the rest. He is a very kind and giving person. In conclusion, I highly recommend Gil for any job that you have. He is fair with prices and does great work and does what he says he will do. Sincerely Mark and Joanne Sobieski
