On September 27th we requested a service call from Able plumbing, a company we have used for the past 10 years. The call was to determine why we did not have hot water in the downstairs portion of our home. The service man, whom we have been told is named Nate arrived and rapidly concluded that we needed a new hot water heater at a cost of $1400.00 + which gave us pause. The next day we had our handy man give us his opinion, he quickly discovered a burned-out wire, he tested this and determined there was no power to the hot water heater. We had a licensed electrician replace the wire and have had no further problems with the hot water heater. We telephoned Able plumbing to advise them of the problem and to request a refund of the $120.00 we had paid for nothing. Nate claimed that he unplugged the hot water heater which was a lie as there is no plug to the unit. Fortunately, we are out only $120.00, but this attempted scam is alarming and after 10 years we are no longer clients of Able plumbing.
