goCstudio is an innovative architecture and design studio founded by jon gentry and aimee o'Carroll and based in seattle. We strive for design excellence in every project and bring an internationally diverse background of experiences to each endeavor. Our work is driven by our collaborative process, where we continually strive to respond to the specifics of each unique project rather than imposing a design style. We marvel at evolution and engage it as a metaphor for our design process, allowing ideas to mutate and drift, influenced by such forces as site specifics, client goals, project schedule, budget requirements, and fabrication methods. We believe that real growth and true creativity will only be born from a process that is responsive to these types of forces. The willingness to engage the criteria of each project leads us collectively to places we could not individually conceive. With over a decade of combined experience on unique residential and commercial projects, construction, and product design, our work purposefully engages various scales with the same attitude and process. We delve into each project with intensity and focus. goCstudio endeavors to design and see(k); to discover by questioning.

COR Cellars Winery | Dec 2013 | This new modern winery is located along the Columbia River in Lyle, WA. The proposal for the new structure on this 20 acre site responds to this unique landscape and the owners desire to have a protected, multi-functional courtyard. The Columbia River pulls strong westerly winds up through the gorge and becomes an element to deal with while working outside much of the year. The new structure creates a courtyard that is a respite from the constant winds, allowing workers to use the courtyard for daily operations and also offering a protected event and gathering space for tasting room visitors. The structure berms into the earth along the north while opening out to grand views of Mount Hood from the tasting room on the south corner. The design accommodates the existing metal bottling shed allowing this structure to complete the enclosed courtyard at the east end. The building program includes a new tasting room, barrel storage, office, kitchen, and viewing deck. Construction on COR Cellars is scheduled to begin in early 2014. | Lyle, WA |
