In over 30 years of design practice, I have created landscapes of nearly every size, style and scope. All of these plans focus on meeting the client's needs for space, function, privacy, beauty and low maintenance while making the garden unique and memorable. I have emphasized drought tolerance and environmental compatibility from the beginning. My gardens exult in our mild climate, with color and bloom in every month. My work includes all facets of landscape design: built features such as paving, steps, walls, arbors, and decks; water features and lighting, and of course, plants. From garden remodels to starting-from-scratch, I can help you make the most of your outdoor space within your budget. The plan is more than a drawing. The design process begins with an initial visit, no charge, to meet you and talk about your project. After I get the go-ahead, I will come back to measure and then start drawing. I will present a preliminary plan and discuss your options with you. Once all of your questions have been answered and materials selected, I will draw a final plan. If you approve and are ready to go into construction, I will help you get the work underway. All through construction, I will be there to make sure the work goes well. Besides the full design, I offer consultation services for a more modest fee. These two-hour sessions with you include answering questions and creating sketches and lists of materials, or whatever you may need to get the project done. For small landscape projects, this option often works well.
