We love to design gardens. Our Seattle office led by Mark S. Garff ASLA, LLA specializes in creating unique gardens reflecting the individuality of their owners while respecting the environment around them. Here's how we do it: We meet with you at your home to determine your needs and desires for the project, we put together a proposal, and then we get to work - designing your landscape with attention to detail. Then we'll help you find just the right landscape contractor to install your project, based on your construction budget. We'll stay involved to make sure the contractor gets it done just right.

I couldn't be happier with having chosen Mark for my landscape design. From the onset, he was very focused and attentive on helping me design a space that would satisfy my needs. His communication is outstanding and always kept me up to date with where things stood and what the next steps would be. His vast experience in Landscape Architecture helped me avoid many pitfalls that would have been inevitable had I simply hired a landscape company to create something for me. He has a great eye for design and was open to my ideas but also not afraid to tell me when my idea wasn't going to work. That to me, is a clear sign of experience and confidence, something that is worth every penny. I'm extremely pleased with how my space turned out and It wouldn't have been feasible without the help of Mark Garff.

KV Ranch | Jan 2015 | New project on the boards in Palisades, WA in the coulee. Surrounded by dramatically rugged cliffs and austere shrub-steppe vegetation, this working 6000 acre cattle ranch will see an amenity-filled oasis created around the original 1920's farm house. | $200k | Seattle, WA
Shoreline Serenity | Sep 2014 | Restored lake shore near Seattle, designed, and photographed by Mark S. Garff, ASLA. Collaborated with Paul Broadhurst on additional planting, amenities and installation. A large flat lawn ending abruptly at a concrete bulkhead was transformed into an entertaining beach oasis using granite boulders, beach logs, sand and gravel. Detailed planting and paving touches, along with a gas firepit, custom-made log bench, and LED lighting round out this amazing transformation. | $250k | Issaquah, WA
Mid-Century Upgrade, Seattle | Jun 2014 | In Seattle's Crown Hill neighborhood, a young couple recently upgraded a mid-century modern home with an amazing view of Puget Sound. A modern plant palette with year round vibrant color sets off the architecture. | $75k | Seattle, WA

Edible Urban Oasis | Jun 2014 | In south Seattle, a tiny backyard garden needed a makeover to add usability and create a sitting area for entertaining. Raised garden beds for edible plants provide the transition between the existing deck and new patio below, eliminating the need for a railing. A firepit provides the focal point for the new patio. Angles create drama and direct flow to the steel stairs and gate. | $25k | Seattle, WA
Lake Cottage Landscape | May 2014 | A small space garden at the water's edge was redesigned for intimate gathering and privacy from a messy neighbor. A steep hillside was tamed by a gabion basket wall and elegant planting. | $46k | Seattle, WA
Kirkland Shoreline Restoration | Aug 2013 | Shoreline restoration and planting design for a Lake Washington home. | $540k | Kirkland, WA
Clyde Hill View | Jul 2013 | Existing plants outgrew their spaces and lost their appeal for a view property owner. Overgrown trees and shrubs were removed to open up dramatic views of Seattle to the west. New bluestone patio spaces and a stone path around the entire perimeter set off subtle textural planting. A rain garden and drought tolerant plants round out the project with the final touch: zero lawn. All lawn was removed and replaced with walkable ground cover! | $200k | Clyde Hill, WA |
