Mono is a true artist who cares as much about the homes he beautifies as the owners do, and maybe even more than the owners do. There were several times I suggested he cut corners, which he flatly rejected, though we were paying him a fixed rate for the job, not by the hour. Over the course of several months, he palm sanded our entire home down to the original cedar, which he then stained. He also painted the basement level, trim, soffit, eaves, facia and bellyband with four different colors, always making sure that the edges were neat and clean. He "wrapped" all the trim painting so that the architectural details stood out. To prep the job, he clipped every single stupid rusty roofing nail that the prior owners had used, dabbing the exposed sheared-off metal with rust protectant. He replaced antique rotting molding with new wood that he milled himself. Basically, he could do anything we asked him to do, and he did so in a friendly, professional manner. To top it off, his was one of the lowest bids I received on the project, which I called 15 contractors to estimate. Mono's references all credited his work as top notch, and they were right. Mono was as professional and detail-oriented as the highest bidder, and I know that no one could have done the job as well as he did, though it took longer than we both had anticipated. He worked mornings, evenings, days, weekends to get the job done. He also gave us valuable advice on our color choices and placement. I am one of the most demanding customers out there, and even with that level of expectation, I recommend him highly. If you want a custom painting job -- whether interior or exterior -- or landscaping, hire him.
