Mullen Septic & Drainfield service L.L.C.

From the first time we met with Chris and Carrie we really liked them and felt they were more personal and professional than other septic companies we met with. We needed a new drainfield and ultimately decided to hire Mullins Septic & Drainfield Service. During our initial meeting they pointed out that our irrigation well was within close proximity to where the new drainfield would be installed and implied this could be a potential issue, so we decided to have it disconnected. I just want to mention that the well was working perfectly at the time of disconnection. After the installation was completed, which we were satisfied with, we hired a company to reconnect our well pump. During the course of this work the hired professional was digging around the pump and found that all the lines going to the well heads had been sheared off! Come to find out, Chris had carelessly thrust his excavator bucket into the ground near the well pump and broke all the lines. What's so upsetting is the fact that he knew the well was there...he was the one who pointed out the close proximity to the drainfield in the first place...and then never took the time (a few minutes at best) to dig around the well pump to find out where the lines went so to be sure he didn't break them. Further, after digging up the lines he never even bothered to tell us that it had happened! When we confronted Chris about it his defense was that he doesn't know what's under the ground and indemnified himself and his crew of any damage that occurs from their negligence. I get that in business you shouldn't be liable for everything that goes wrong, but when you carelessly destroy a customer's property over something that could've been prevented, we think others should know about it. So, if you are reading this, please know that we aren't discrediting the quality of their work, we are satisfied with our drainfield installation. However, we would feel remiss if we didn't at least warn you that their business practices may cost you a surplus of money. Make sure there are no sprinkler lines, water lines, well lines, etc. under the ground because they will carelessly rip them out and you will be stuck with the bill...even if they know the lines are there!
