Transitional Farmhouse Kitchen | May 2016 | This Transitional Farmhouse Kitchen in Pasadena was completely remodeled. Our design inspiration began with a deep green soapstone counter top paired with creamy white cabinetry. Carrera marble subway tile for the backsplash is a luxurious splurge and adds classic elegance to the space. The stainless steel appliances and sink create a more transitional feel, while the shaker style cabinetry doors and schoolhouse light fixture are in keeping with the original style of the home. | $50k | Pasadena, CA
Contemporary Pasadena Condo | Dec 2014 | In this contemporary condo project our clients were relocating and downsizing, while at the same time starting over with both new furnishings and a new design style. We started with a clean slate in a brand new condo, so it was decided that the new home would be glamorous, contemporary in nature and have a high-end appeal. Our clients requested lots of light leather furniture, metal, and glass. The end result is perfect for a newly wed couple in the center of South Lake Avenue in Pasadena, CA. | $100k | Pasadena, CA
Pasadena Ranch | Jun 2015 | In this project, one of our objectives was to find a way to connect an existing back house to the main home. This new room was to be used as a media and entertainment space. The floor in this home had noticeably settled at one end. One of our challenges was to take attention away from the irregular ceiling heights. So, we brought the upper cabinetry away from the ceiling, removed crown molding from the ceilings and then painted cabinetry, walls and ceilings in similar light colors. Our client’s home had previously been “done to the nines” in a style not at all agreeable with our client so this meant we needed to resurface and remodel almost every square inch of the home. Rooms were gutted; a brand new custom kitchen was installed, an adjacent dining nook was created, and the fireplace refaced and redesigned with flanking bookshelves and cabinets. Radiant heat was added under the bathroom floors, a laundry room was carved out of an extra closet and so it went. In the end, a style much more in keeping with our client emerged. A style that is warm, earthy and inviting to all who visit. | Pasadena, CA
Alhambra Home | Oct 2014 | A traditional ranch style home is tucked away in Alhambra on a large lot with gorgeous views of the San Gabriel mountain range. The project began in early 2014 and was completed before the end of summer. The backyard is perfect for entertaining, the new pool is surrounded by lounge areas, a new outdoor kitchen and BBQ area and two new decks. A meditation area and hammock pad were added next to the patio with a fire pit. All new resort inspired furniture was selected for the outdoor spaces including a dining area, bar area, two lounge areas, two outdoor living spaces and the mediation pad. Inside the home the remodel included two refaced fireplaces, new carpet, paint refinished floors and lighting throughout. All new custom furniture was made for the home. A boathouse feel is carried from the living room into the rest of the house. A transitional style incorporates traditional pieces mixed with Asian influenced tables and hotel inspired furniture. Our design challenge was to incorporate elements of old Alhambra, with the high-end details of the Montage hotel and the relaxed feel of Poi-Pu beach. Blues, grays and creams are the predominate colors throughout the home, lending to a calm luxurious feel. A hotel inspired bedroom is calm and clean, keeping with the Casually Elegant brand of Talianko Design Group. | Alhambra, CA
La Canada Home | Mar 2014 | This home is a traditional ranch style nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. It is peacefully situated down a long driveway. Tall trees and lush greens line either side. The project began in early 2013 and completed in spring of 2014. Talianko Design Group was hired as a part of the design/build team to complete the interior design and decoration. The architect had already proposed the layout and the discussions were underway with the contractor when our design process began. The configuration of the main living areas, kitchen and master suite have changed dramatically in this whole-house remodel. Our clients were drawn to a design style, which is inspired by organic motifs as well as geometric and traditional lines. The resulting style of the home is what is referred to as transitional. The color palette reflects this style and includes golds, soft browns and cream, blues and burnt oranges, with the master suite in softer tones. There is a cohesive feeling as you move from one room to the next. As you enter the home, a newly remodeled fireplace wall, which includes the clients extensive art and artifact collections, greets you. The bookshelves already existed but were redesigned to include closed cabinets below and new molding throughout. The kitchen is completely remodeled and is situated perfectly for entertaining guests, High-end appliances such as a 48 Sub Zero refrigerator and Thermador range-top are features of the new kitchen. Beautifully crafted tile worked and solid granite counter tops bring it all together. A brand new luxurious master suite includes custom built furniture, bedding and draperies. The newly added master bathroom features a Carrera and Crema Marfil mosaic on the shower wall and refined polished nickel plumbing and accessories. Almost every surface of the his home has been refurnished, re-configured or re-decorated, in order to make it truly a place to unwind, regroup and enjoy friends and family. | La Canada, CA
Westlake House | Dec 2013 | This sprawling ranch style home was remodeled to incorporate the client's love of beautiful seascapes and a casual beach lifestyle. A new floor plan with a reconfigured kitchen and dining room opened up the home to the family room and living room. Garden views are seen from nearly anywhere, adding to the charm of newly updated home. New hardwood floors were added throughout the home to update the spaces. All upholstery, area rugs and window treatments were made custom for the home. A den located off the entrance is the perfect place for a book and some relaxing. The master suite, powder bath and guest bath were also updated in this whole home remodel. | Westlake Village, CA
