My name is Jim Whittemore and I have been called as an expert witness for the construction industry. I have seen plenty of home remodeling disasters up close. Maybe good news doesn't sell but I am sure you don't want your project to be highlighted in a TV expose on bad contractors. I want to assure you that working with my company will be a positive experience. I know that is easier said than done. That is one of the reasons I provide you with a long list of references so you can call my clients and ask them the tough questions. A recent survey found that over 66% of remodeling contractors were out of business within 5 years. Amazingly, less than 33% of those survivors make it to 10 years I have been "remodeling the Farmington Valley since 1974". I am confident that my longevity is based on understanding the needs and perspective of my clients, especially the women. In my experience, women make more of the every day decisions and choices in a construction project and I can make that much less stressful. If you are looking to refresh a bathroom, update your kitchen, put on an addition, or any other remodeling project, it is possible for a project to be done right the first time without hidden charges, hassles or poor quality that are all too commonly found. There are many general and remodeling contractors that talk a good game but very few deliver on their promises. I encourage you to carefully review "What Happens when You Choose the Low Bidder" - it highlights all of the ways that the low bidder can take advantage of you and unfortunately I have seen plenty of these as an expert witness.
