This particular client wanted to convert their garage loft in to an in-law suite. The area was once an apartment and already had most of the systems in place but it had low ceilings and no character that would be indicative of a building of this age. We started by gutting the space and vaulting the ceilings to give it a more airy feel. The kitchen was opened up and renovated to meet modern standards and needs. Meanwhile, the bathroom was brought down to studs and started over. Stairs were added to gain access to the newly created loft area. Stone and reclaimed wood were added as wall treatments to give the area a rustic character and were accented with ornamental iron railings and black steel light fixtures. The finished product is a beautiful and functional living space where rustic and modern are married in perfect balance.

This old and tired fireplace was in dire need of updating. The customer opted to remove the entire stone veneer and replace it with a more updated stacked stone application that goes to the ceiling and split the area with a custom made, wood bookshelf. The fireplace is is finished off with a “floating” mantle and bluestone hearth giving the room warmth both figuratively and literally.

We started this project by totally gutting the space and starting from scratch. All new electrical, lighting, plumbing, and drywall were installed to give the best possible outcome. The flooring is a porcelain tile plank style floor with neutral coloring to help give an open feel. Cabinets are a raised panel with glazing complete with wine rack and accentuated with crown molding to match and a contrasting colored island. The cabinets are topped with a dark granite countertops with a glass/ceramic mosaic backsplash. All stainless appliances with a built-in microwave complete this gem of a kitchen.
