This small kitchen remodel included removing closet walls, replacing some dysfunctional cabinets and counter tops with new cabinets as well as a pantry opposite the new breakfast bar tops that were added. Most of the existing cabinets remained in place with just the door and drawer fronts being replaced and new hardware installed. New lighting, laminate flooring and paint completed the work.

All of the walls in this house were originally covered with diagonal cedar plank paneling. As part of a whole house renovation, the cedar paneling was removed and replaced with drywall. The kitchen was completely removed down to studs on the walls and plywood subflooring. Walls for closets and partitions were removed to open up the room and expand the kitchen area for a larger more functional use of the space. The new travertine flooring covered the entire upper level to tie in all the spaces into a uniform use of color and texture. An all new cabinet layout with new counter tops, lighting, and ceramics created a modern look with a formal beach appeal.

The project began with a summer home the owner wanted converted the entire house into their primary home. The main floor was completely gutted down to the subfloors and exterior walls. Interior walls, the existing kitchen, and bathrooms, all electrical, plumbing, windows and doors were removed. The new design included new Master Bedroom with Walk-in closet and Ensuite Bathroom, greatly enhanced Kitchen with large Butler's Pantry and Powder Room, a separate Recreation Room, formal Dining Room and large Living Room with a new fireplace. A new exterior composite deck was provided with a stairway down through the trees leading out to the shore of the sound. This shows the kitchen work.
