Unfortunately I have had a poor experience with this company . I will say the plumber they sent was wonderful . He did a great job , was polite and knowledgeable. The complaint is with the company and how they handle payment etc . The receptionist Wendy, is quite rude and strongly defensive. When I called I was told by her they charge $85/hour plus any materials used. Wendy took my credit card info to secure the appointment. She said they only charge the cards when you fail to pay When the work was done i asked for an invoice and was going to write a check . The plumber said that they would write it up later and I would have a call or they would mail a bill with the amount . I asked if they had an idea of the cost . He said 250 maybe 300. This seemed right as they were there 2.5 hours and done materials were used. I heard nothing for days. On Friday I had a missed call and voicemail from Bilz .They stated my bill was $419 and they were charging my card . I called back and asked about the bill. I said I would like to see the bill and go over it before they would charge it . Wendy told me she had already chArged it . I told her I did not authorize her to do that And she argued that it was okay because she called me. Keep in mind I had called her back maybe 10 minutes after the voicemail was left . She wasted no time charging away. When I asked about the price she told me the cost was $135 / hour because there were two plumbers who came out . I told her that I was told 85/hour and was not informed it was per person . She scolded me for not knowing this and said it was common sense. I explained I did not know if it was normal for plumbers to come out in a set of 2 or 3 or by themselves and this price Cifferevce should be explained . She stated that it would have taken longer has only one person been there. I explained that when I told he'd what we needed she , herself said it would probably take 2 hours. And she had also said $85 an hour. These statement made by Wendy helped make out decision to go with bilz . I asked for some sort of reimbursement . Explained they did crest work but she had give. Is the wrong information on pricking and she had charged my card without authorization . She said she would call back Monday . Over the weekend we realized we may need one other minor plumbing issue fixed. I called Monday afternoon and explained to her that we needed one other pipe fixed and wondered if they could work out a deal with us to make up for the confusion with price. She again became defensive yelling at me that she said she would call me back . If I had just waited she would have called etc, I tried to explain that I was calling about the past issue but also with a possible resolution . She did not hear anything j had to say she just kept going on how they have been in business for 150 years. The problem is Wendy is the only person working their reception. So everyone I call , it's her . I don't want something for nothing. I will pay the 85/hour as I was told this was the price . However being charged over $170 extra almost double the amount expected is out of line , without an invoice is rediculious, and without my concert is not only wrong it's illegal . This vompany is letting Wendy the receptionist make decisions, scam clients and take advantage of homeowners. This company did a great job , has great plumbers. However they are dishonest , overcharge and charge without authorization. With every call Wendy tells me how they have been in business for 150 years , she says this with entitled arrogance , rest assured she is not the reason they have been in business so long and if they keep going business like this and scamming people out of money they won't be in business much longer
