Asked about fencing and told them we wanted to make sure this was our best option. They proceed to text us “Tell you what. Find another company. Have enough work. Closing 2 jobs today. Bye bye.” The owner seems unstable at the very least and was overall very abrasive to work with. Do not waste your hard earned money here.

I had a fence put in the back of the house, and it was immaculate. Truly a piece of work. His crew are solid guys and all around good compnay

My husband and I needed to replace an old fence. We contacted Good Neighbor Fencing, among others, and pursued estimates for the job. We decided to go with Good Neighbor Fencing and accepted Joe's bid. We made arrangements for a start date. Unfortunately, enter Covid-19. We also had multiple days of rainy weather, factors created several out of the ordinary situations. The owner and the crews were WONDERFUL at keeping us updated on our progress or lack there of. The crews were very professional and very accommodating. We have 2 large dogs who are always in need of a secure barrier and the crews kept our dogs safe as they worked. The fence is complete and we are very happy with the result

To start with, I want to say that the employees of this company were nothing but courteous and professional, and if I could write this review without it reflecting on them, I would. However, we had so many problems and miscommunications with the owner, I would be remiss to recommend this company to anyone else. We got a good fence in the end, but it took way more of our time, patience, and attention than it should have. Less diligent homeowners would have ended up with lower quality wood than they agreed to pay for and a gate that looked terrible and was difficult to open. We also had to endure being shouted at, insulted, and having the owner order his crew off our property after we politely confronted him about one of his attempts to foist subpar work off on us. The first problem that came up was a delayed start date. We’ve worked with enough contractors to know that this is a fairly common occurrence, and while frustrating, it wouldn’t be enough to seriously affect our opinion of a company if everything else went right. The next thing that happened was that we discovered the contractor had substituted lumber from Menard’s for the R.P. Lumber he promised during the bid. We’re not saying there’s anything wrong with Menard’s fencing, but it’s clearly thinner and less durable than the same products from R.P. We politely contacted the owner and asked him to use the products he promised us in the bid, because that’s what we thought we were paying for when we hired them. We shouldn’t have had to have the conversation in the first place - and a less vigilant consumer might never have noticed. However, rather than apologizing and correcting the problem, he shouted at us incoherently and ordered his workers off the job. He eventually called back, apologized and fixed the problem, but the whole situation created unnecessary delays and took unnecessary time out of our busy schedules. The last straw was when the owner told us the job was done after installing a gate that we could have probably done a better job on ourselves. (Side note: he installed the gate himself, not his employees.) It was warped. The fence pickets didn’t form a straight line. It was hard to latch and hard to open. We again politely called and asked him when he planned to come fix it - assuming they weren’t done. He became indignant and verbally abusive and initially refused to repair it. He eventually relented (after we sent him pictures documenting the poor craftsmanship), and his employees (not him) did a good job. The icing on the cake: after all of these problems and delays of his own making, he had the audacity to call and rudely ask why he hadn’t gotten the check in the mail less than three days after they finished the job. For the record, we put it in the mail the day after they finished (after inspecting the fence one last time).
