A major wall was removed opening the kitchen into the great room. A tremendous amount of usable space was discovered. The cabinets were replaced with flat panel maple cabinets with a cherry finish. The client requires additional space with a sunroom and deck and outdoor lounging area. Our design creates a unique indoor and outdoor space pod. French doors open from the kitchen/dining area into the sunroom. French style Atrium doors allow free movement from the sunroom to the outdoor covered porch on one side. And from the sunroom to the private dining or sun deck on the other side. A custom tray ceiling allows the ceiling fan to be recessed. Additional lighting is recessed. Floors are porcelain tiles. A separate Amana digital heat pump cost effectively keeps the sunroom at its own temperature without using the main house system. Exterior siding and stone complement the room as it connects to the existing house. Project was to design and build a custom sun room with an atrium style. The house was an L shape and the roof line was difficult to create one with correct pitch and water shed. A monolithic concrete foundation and floor were poured. Heating and plumbing were installed under the floor in the concrete. Large windows were added to maximize light. The sun room connects the master bedroom to the great room and new kitchen we designed and installed. A custom corner fireplace is the focal point of the room. It is then covered in dry stack stone as is an entire wall. The floors are stained concrete. The 400 square foot room creates a large entertainment area that then exits to a beautiful landscaped concrete patio. Inspirational space.... Serenity.... and Entertaining all in a central Springfield setting.

An existing client contacted us to look at their prefab sun room. It was a white room, built on a deck, no foundation, thin walls and a shed style marginally sloped roof. The problem was that it leaked, rotted the floor, windows did not seal, high condensation, and it was out of square. All at a cost of $27500 and it was just 2 years old and out of warrantee. We discussed the options and they decided to have Affordable Home Improvements demolish the prefab leaky sunroom. We then designed and built a custom sunroom from the ground up. It included: excavation, footing, crawl space, framing, thermal insulated windows to match those in the existing house, insulated patio door, soffit and fascia, and all BRICK to match the house. Interior had an in room Amana heat pump, electric, drywall with textured walls and ceiling, paint, trim and was completed with two foot by six inch wood look tiles. The cost was $32000 and the owners were extremely pleased with the new room. Want to know who built the prefab sun room?
