Ruben cares very much about his 5 star ratings so when I told him I wasn't going to give him 5 stars I thought that would inspire him to come in February to fix the toilet he installed in January but it didn't. I texted him on February 10th to come anytime that week and fix the toilet. He said he would and told me in the meantime to shut off the valve. Then I didn't hear from him again and he never showed up so on March 9th, I texted him again and told him he was fired. He texted back asking me to give him 2 days, which would have been March 11th. He still didn't show up. He's very expensive and every time he came to my house, he asked me out. He wanted to take me for coffee, to the movies, for ice cream, to Olive Garden. He even invited me to Kings Dominion with his family the first time I met him. I didn't want to date him, I just needed a handyman. He charged me $850 to fix a brick retaining wall in my backyard and I didn't even get to pick the bricks! He showed up with some that had holes in them that I NEVER would have picked but he picked them because they were the right color. He charged me twice to replace the faucet in my kitchen ONCE. He tried to charge me $150 to assemble a bathroom vanity because the one I chose was unassembled. His contract did NOT state that the installation only included assembled vanities and told me I had to "work with him". I helped him put it together so I wouldn't have to pay $150. He left the valves in the bathroom leaking for 3 months and told me to put a bucket under them. All that dripping cost me money on my water bill. Even after all that, I still would have had him come back to fix the last few things in my house because it was just easier than finding a new handyman.
