Project Description: The Gideon Lowe House was built by the youngest son of one of Key West's earliest Bahamian settlers. It is typical of the islands architecture and was a pleasure to help restore her. The main house reflects a typical Greek Revival floor plan with Victorian embellishments. The house is within the Key West Historic District and its scuttles, verandas and shuttered windows and doors all contribute to its historic character. The house was converted in the 1970's into a 7 Unit and 7 Bathroom Guest House. The just completed restoration converted the house back into a single family house with 4 Bedroom and 3 Bathrooms. All 7 Bathrooms were removed, along with the exterior feed plumbing and fire sprinkler system. The main floor of the house was converted into a Bedroom Suite while the oldest section of the house was converted into a Great Room overlooking the side deck and rear swimming pool and waterfall. The Great Room opens into the Kitchen, which is located in its original location.
