Happy with their work. They were on time. They did the work in a good manner. Their staff were humble in manner and were soft spoken. I was really satisfied and would recommend others to have their work done by them.

Absolutely awful experience with this company. We hired them to tear out a bathroom remodel I had started, and to reinstall a full tile shower. I had done a ton of reading prior to starting the work, and I made careless mistakes with measurements and tile installation leading to a poor job, but I knew how it was supposed to be built. Juan assured me it would be built correctly and as a licensed contractor he must follow WA building code for his work. The demolition went fine, the wall buildout appeared to be fine, but I did think it was weird there was vinyl shower lining laying flat on the floor under the curb. I didn’t think anything of it and figured he it’s his way of providing an extra layer of water protection. The next day when I cam home at about 4:30 pm they had finished pouring the mud bed. There is no way they could have poured and dried a pre-slope and poured the new mud in that time, so I’m concerned there is no pre-slope. They installed hardie backer directly into the mud and didn’t tape it up before waterproofing it, this is directly against the manufacture specifications. They drilled on the inside of the shower and the top of the curb, puncturing the waterproof liner in the exact spots it needs to stop water from leaking. The shower is only 29.5 inches wide before any tile is added, minimum code is 30 inches FINISHED. We had asked for 36 unfinished. The vinyl was also cut at an outside corner (instead of using an outside corner dam?) on top of the curb, any resting water and boom it’s leaking, it’s also against building code. When I brought up my concerns to Juan, he tried to tell me it would be fine. When I said it’s not to code, he began to yell at me and belittle me. Saying “I’m the professional not you. Why would you even call me or hire me?” I don’t know Juan maybe because I have a full-time job and a full time family. Why do you hire anyone to do anything? You expect a professional to do it correctly. I even called him back to apologize because I thought maybe I had been in the wrong. He then wanted to yell and argue about the refund and tried to only offer me $650 back. He refused to demo out and redo the work. What he didn’t know is that I’ve worked construction, I’ve studied building code, I’ve remodeled houses (including my last one). I’m not just some idiot who has no idea how this works. Juan decides he no longer will work for us and refuses a refund. He send his crew to pick up their gear, I relocate it to the back porch. I don’t want any of these guys back in my home. They had tons of garbage left from the demolition and they just left it. So we paid $3700 upfront, he decided to retain all of it and refuses to refund, and then he doesn’t complete the job by leaving the garbage which was a part of the bid. It’s a clear violation of our contract and abandonment of the job. He obviously doesn’t know bathroom or shower code. DON’T USE THIS CONTRACTOR UNLESS YOU WANT SHODDY WORK AND HAVE TO FILE A LAWSUIT TO RECLAIM. This is going to be an insane amount of headache as I now must go through the legal system to recoup my costs. All because Juan wants to put pride before his work. I have already submitted a complaint with the state licensing agency, after abandonment and fraud (withholding my money) hopefully this contractor will no longer have a license.
