Years ago, before my parents moved to the United States, my mother's house burned to the ground due to a fireplace/chimney fire. When my parents moved to the United States, they requested a chimney sweep for cleaning the fireplace and chimney flue. After the left, my father was extremely dissatisfied with the service. The flue was still very dirty and they didn't event sweep/clean out the firebox. It was at that time 1977 when he and I were determined to do a better job than the company which we hired. We went to Europe at the time and was able to find all the necessary equipment for inspecting and cleaning chimneys. At that time, the United States did not have all the tools we needed for chimney sweeping services. We also realized that there was a need for additional services in the chimney business. Dryer vents, fireplace liners, masonry repairs and rebuilds. Gutter cleaning. minor roofing repairs, wood stove and insert installations. And ... the rest is history!
