I am stuck getting a roof that I really don’t want. The salesman walked up to me in my yard talking about a roof that could be paid by my insurance company. My husband said if we have to pay anything we don’t want it. We were then told we’d get a “blessing”. In about 10 days the salesman met with me to talk about the details. He had another person with him, I suppose a co-worker but was later told it was a witness. He asked me to sign a customer agreement to get started. My first mistake was not reading it..I know, how stupid can I be? I thought it was an agreement for him to contact the insurance company on my behalf as that was the first step in getting approved. Within a few days of filing the claim the adjuster met the salesman at my home to look at the roof. My claim was approved. My insurance company sent me claim documents. I was not familiar with any of this. I have never made an insurance claim for anything. I was told beforehand at the first meeting that I’d need to pay my deductible. Honestly I didn’t know my deductible...another sad thing on my part. My claim documents stated my deductible as 1% and the amount was more than I could pay so I wanted out. I met with the salesman again and showed him my claim ppwk and let them know that I had no way to pay this amount of deductible. He said I could finance it which o don’t want to do. He did what every good salesman does and assured we could work out something. I was ready to just cancel the whole thing. At a third meeting he gave me his new plan. A roof over roof option with a regular type shingle instead of the nice architectural kind and that it cost much less and my claim check was enough to pay the roof and deductible. Sounds great, right? I was to finalize the deal after he had an out of town trip and I got my check for the claim. I started thinking...This man shows up in my yard telling me I’m gonna be “blessed” with a new roof. After getting the claim done I tell him I can’t afford it right now. He pushed to get me a “deal” to get a lesser roof that I can afford and tells me he’s gone above and beyond to help me out. Now I’m stuck since I made the fatal mistake of signing that customer agreement. I have to get something I didn’t really ask for and a lesser product than others on my street. DO NOT EVER TALK TO WALK UP ROOFERS. EVEN IF YOU’RE OK WITH YOUR DEDUCTIBLE AND MONEY IS NOT AN ISSUE SEEK A ROOFER ON YOUR OWN. This has been nothing but a headache and feel screwed to get a sale.

Rod & his staff at Southern Specialty provide excellent service! We used his services after suffering hail damage to our entire house. Rod visited our house immediately & offered us a thorough estimate. We also appreciated the personal care Rod gave to our case. He was present when the insurance company sent their adjuster to inspect our house damage. He did a great job of making sure the adjuster did not miss anything. Rod & staff also worked directly with our insurance company to make sure we received fair compensation for our damage. In terms of quality of service, Southern Specialty fixed everything quickly but with care and attention to detail. Overall, we highly recommend Southern Specialty. You will receive professional, personal, & quality service. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
