I first communicated with Southern Exposure on May 9th for a 20' by 10' concrete patio. I did tell them to hold off putting me on the schedule until I got HOA approval. They told me once I got approval, it should be no more than 4 weeks until I get the patio put in. One week later, I had approval and contacted them the same day saying I put my estimated completion date as June 20th. 4 weeks and some change away. They said no problem and they would be in touch soon to tell me where I was on the schedule. I had one heck of a communication issue while using this company. I always had to call and see what was happening with my order. I never got a straight response beyond 'We are seeing what our concrete guy's schedule is'. I always had to leave a message and never got a call back until about 3 days later. Finally, I was only 1 week away from my deadline. They told me it would be 2 weeks until they could get out there and to call them back once I got approval for an extension. I got the approval and it was finally done through a subcontractor on the last day of the extension, a Friday. They left my yard a mess but said they would be back on Monday to clean up and make everything pretty. Monday came and went. I waited until Wednesday when they sent me the invoice saying my job was complete to call and tell them it wasn't complete. They said they would get in touch with the subcontractors and if they weren't going to go back and do it, they would come out themselves since it was promised to me. So I waited until Friday and heard nothing back. So I called again. They said they had not been able to get in touch with the company, and would be out Monday morning if they couldn't get a hold of them by the end of business day. They didn't, and came out promptly on Monday morning and everything looked pretty. I paid that afternoon, and all was well. My project was completed on July 6th. 7 weeks and some change after I got my HOA approval and they said it would be 4 weeks until everything was done. I was disappointed with the communication. But as far as the quality of the work, it was done, done well, and they came out and finished the job when the subcontractor didn't.

Entertainment Patio nestled in the woods | Sep 2014 | The clients loved to entertain and had a great wooded backyard that had a lot of potential. They wanted a space that could accommodate a large group, lots of seating as well as open patio space for gathering. They also wanted a great grilling station that allowed them to be part of the party while cooking. The wooded lot lent itself to a more natural rustic style. We used Belgard's Mega Bergerac 3 piece paver on the patio and Belgard's Celtic Wall block for the retaining wall and columns. The outdoor kitchen is faced with natural field stone as well as the attached bar and topped off with granite counter tops. Landscape lighting was incorporated into the install for a seamless finish. Stepping stones create a pathway off the patio and around to the side yard. Shrubs and trees were planted in the upper and lower beds surrounding the patio area. | $40k | Greensboro, NC
Summerfield Estate Landscape Lighting | Jun 2010 | This spacious estate is set far off from the main road in a rural area with no large street lamps. Proper lighting was very important for safety and security, but with no other light pollution in the area, it was also important to not flood the area with harsh lights, but rather well-spaced, subtle lighting. The result is an even glow that makes a statement without looking unnatural. | $8k | Summerfield, NC
Downtown Randleman Renovation | Oct 2014 | Today, Randleman is most know as being the home of NASCARs Petty family and the Victory Junction Gang Camp. As many factory and mill jobs have moved out of the town, city planners have been actively working to rejuvenate the town for a new generation. Development around the lake, the addition of a community center, park and recreation center and up-fitting of many downtown shops and restaurants have all contributed to the revitalization process. One of the major beautifications to the downtown has been the complete overhaul of the Commerce Square, the citys downtown community event center. What once was a large parking lot off of main street, is now a beautiful community park with landscaped walkways, bandstand, outdoor classroom, fountains and community Christmas Tree. In late 2012, the city hired Southern Exposure Landscape Management to design a three phase plan. By March of 2013, work began on phase 1 of the plan, with phase 2 beginning early 2014. Southern Exposure installed nearly 15,000 square feet of Belgard pavers, about 300 linear feet of walls and about 450 plants. Sod was laid throughout and two custom water features. Southern Lights, Southern Exposures lighting division, installed over 250 fixtures and 200 linear feet of strip lighting. waterfeaturenight2 Southern Exposure also landscaped three traffic circles at main intersections within the town. The completed project turned out beautifully and the venue has served for many successful events already NC Food Truck State Championship, NASCAR Day Festival and Ramblin in Randleman just to name a few. Southern Exposure was very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the citys revitalization and will take part in another project in 2015 for the citys library. | Randleman, NC
