Carpenter - Syracuse, NY
Simon renovated my friend's house and she recommended him highly, so I contacted him for a couple of small jobs at my house last fall. I have worked with many handymen and the biggest problem I had with most of them was that it is so difficult to get hold of them! Simon answered my calls and made sure returning my calls promptly if he was in the middle of something. He did not mind working for small jobs. He arrived on time at my place whenever we made an appointments. Back then, I had a problem with a dryer and he noticed that small stairway toward the dryer was broken and went ahead and fix it for free while he was working on the dryer! Since then, Simon is my to-go-handy man from renovating my laundry area and guest bathroom to deck, landscaping, lighting, electronics etc! He is not a smooth talker, but, as I work with him more, I trust him more and enjoy working with him more. I highly recommend him!
I have known Simon Farrar since 2013. Simon is an experienced carpenter (30+ years) with various skills of house renovation/remodeling. He has done the major updates of my house including basement renovation (drywall and drop ceiling, painting, and bathroom tiling), the installation of hardwood stairs, the groundwork of fireplace replacement, a doorway expansion, entrance flooring, and slab installations. Overall, He has done excellent job each time. He always got the job done without rushing himself and took his time to complete his work. Overall, I have been very satisfied with his work. He is knowledgeable, skilled, and trustworthy. I highly recommend him to anyone!
Simon has built me the most beautiful and original porch that I can think about. We reviewed lots of designs and magazines on the subject and came up with the general principles of what I love and what I hate the most in a porch. The result is a porch which is elegant, integrates well in the surrounding garden and is elegant.
I liked all jobs done by this person. I highly recommend him.
