LRDfencing

LRD Fencing was unfortunately contracted by my neighborhoods HOA to do a fencing job behind several of the homes. Eric had no problem sending out invoices for a 50% deposit to each homeowner that was part of the project. He sent out invoices in beginning of March that stated up to a 6 week lead time for installation. Few weeks into March we rec'd a blank email stating not to be upset but its taking time and the pandemic caused a delay....ok no problem. We then rec'd another blanket email in April stating the same thing and requesting that no one gives them a hard time, they're still waiting on product and they don't make money until they complete the job....ha!! I think not. Anyway, our property was being put on the market at the end of May, I contacted LRD via email letting them know that I understand the product has yet to come in and that since they have no idea when they'll receive it and since I was putting my property on the market I'd just like my deposit back as I am not going to be in the property at the time of the job. Surprisingly, I rec'd No response to that email. I phoned and spoke with the "office mgr" - who said she wasn't sure they would be able to give us our deposit back but would check with Eric. Again, nothing. So, I called again...this time she was rude, talked over me AND threatened to hang up on me. Finally, my husband called, was told Eric would call him - which he did and told my husband he would return the deposit less 15% restocking, for materials he HASNT EVEN REC"D at this point. While not happy with that, we agreed and tried to cut our losses. We were told the check would be to us by the weeks end. Weeks end came and went, the following week mid week we called to see where the check was and they told us it was mailed it could take a few days. Three days later the check was rec'd with a postmark of the day we called to find out where it was....strange, huh? The check was made for 30% less of the deposit we gave them. We inquired and he stated that it was 15% of the total job NOT of the deposit. How convenient. We spoke to an attorney because at this point it was absolutely ridiculous to have to pay over $600 for something we never got - the attorney asked that we do some leg work in order to save money with the filing of the case in small claims...unfortunately the leg work required time and with the move it was something we just couldn't do in order to chase a thief that knows he did wrong already. He'll have you read his reviews on Home Advisor.....please , if you do, read them, read his responses to those that were not happy with his work or the way he conducts business. This will show you what type of person you're dealing with. I feel sorry for my former neighbors, I certainly would not want to have to work with this outfit AT ALL. Shame on you and your greediness - your good deed will not go unpunished, I assure you. Oh and to date....being today July 13, 2021 - STILL no movement on the fencing promised in March! Buyer Beware!!
