Richmond, VA - Complete Basement Waterproofing System | Nov 2018 | This Richmond homeowner had been experiencing "small rivulets of water streaming from [thier] basement walls to the drain in the floor of [their] unfinished basement's floor." They were in search of a way to water or damp proof their basement. We installed the CleanSpace Vapor barrier on the walls, WaterGuard Drainage System around the perimeter of the basement, and SuperSump Pump. The CleanSpace will direct any water entering through the basement walls into the WaterGuard System. The WaterGuard System will direct the water it collects into the SuperSump whcih will then pump the water out of the basement and away from the home. | Richmond, VA
Richmond, VA - Basement Waterproofing | Aug 2018 | This homeowner had concerns with water leaking in from the bottom of the walls. Their basement also had an exterior door with steps, that water would flow down and enter under the door. We installed a Complete Basement Waterproofing System with CleanSpace Vapor Barrier on the walls, WaterGuard Drainage System, TripleSafe Sump with Battery Backup and SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. In front of the door, as part of the WaterGuard System, we also installed a TreanchDrain that has an open grate and collects any bulk water entry from under the door. The TripleSafe Sump System consists of 3 pumps. A 1/3 HP pump that does most of the work, a 1/2 HP pump that takes over is the first pump fails or cannot keep up, and the UltraSump Battery Back-up which kicks in when the power fails. | Richmond, VA
Petersburg, VA - Basement Waterproofing | Jun 2018 | This homeowner contacted us because water was coming through their basement walls. We installed the WaterGuard Drainage System with Trench drain, SaniDry Sedona Dehumidification System, and SmartSump Pump System. The WaterGuard system will collect any infiltrating water and direct it to the SmartSump which will carry the water away from the home. The SaniDry Sedona will pull any moisture from the air to help prevent relative humidity from exceeding 60% and mold from growing. | Petersburg, VA
Midlothian, VA - Crawl Space Encapsulation with Foam Board Insulation | Mar 2018 | This home had an encapsulated crawl space at construction, however, it didn't have the desired effect. The homeowner was noticing an ammonia or animal urine odor in the home. This was a result of water penetrating the porous block walls and saturating the R-11 vinyl faced fiberglass insulation attached to the crawl space walls. The trapped moisture caused the odor the homeowner was experiencing in the home. To remedy their concerns about these odors, we first removed the existing R-11 vinyl faced Fiberglass and 6-mil vapor barrier. Then, we installed a 20-mil CleanSpace Vapor Barrier on the floor and wrapped the piers. the 20 mil is much more durable than the 6-mil which will easily rip and tear when service people enter the crawl space to work. Then we installed Foamax board insulation on the walls, leaving the require viewing strip for pest control companies. We sealed the rim & band and sill plate with spray foam insulation to create an air seal and help reduce drafts. Finally, we installed a SaniDry Sedona Denumidificatioin System, to pull any moisture that enters the crawl space out. | Midlothian, VA
Midlothian, VA - Crawl Space Mold Remediation | Nov 2016 | This customer reached out to us after completing a project in their attic, to encapsulate their crawl space. This crawl space had heavy mold on the joists. We used a product called Mold-X2 to kill and remove the mold. The antimicrobial practically "melts" the mold off and is sprayed with a botanical after to help prevent mold from growing back. Once the mold remediation is complete, the crawl space will be encapsulated. | Midlothian, VA
Richmond, VA - Crawl Space Encapsulation with Spray Foam | Oct 2016 | This homeowner reached out to us looking for a solution to water in their crawl space and was interested in encapsulating or sealing the space. The crawl space had water stains on the cinderblock walls, evidence of water entering the space, and standing water on the existing vapor barrier. Mold was present on the floor joists and the insulation between the joists was falling and wet. We removed the old insulation and vapor barrier and remediated the mold on the joists. Next, we installed a new, heavy-duty, 20-mil CleanSpace vapor barrier, durable enough for service people to crawl on without tearing or damaging the liner. We blocked the vents, sealed the sill plate, insulated the rim & band, and installed closed cell spray foam insulation on the crawl space walls. Next, was our custom made, Friction Fit Door, designed by The Drying Co. This door allows for a continuous blanket of insulation on the crawl space walls and air seals behind the crawl space door, to prevent moisture carrying air from entering. We also installed a Dehumidifier to control the relative humidity and help prevent mold/mildew from growing back. | Richmond, VA
Gloucester, VA - Attic Air Sealing & Cellulose Insulation | Jun 2016 | This homeowner was looking for an assessment of their attic insulation. They were experiencing uneven temperatures throughout the home and high energy bills. We removed the old fiberglass insulation, air sealed the attic, and installed a new blanket of cellulose insulation. | Gloucester, VA |
