disappointed... i was given a price and told to order the materials. When i had pallets of shingles sitting on the lawn and the roofers came i was informed the price was going to be more than double the quoted price..... i then searched the interned and found out Robert Neilson, and Bobby Neilson have a history of bad business practices. i should have checked first and saved myself time and effort.

I spent 8 grand on a roof. First time it rained I found three leaks. One is major. I have been leaving voice mails for a week with no reply

Robert Neilson, owner of Troutman Roofing in Troutman, and his son Bobby Neilson, were hired to install a skylight at my home in Troutman. To illustrate their incompetence, they failed to examine the interior structure of the roof before cutting out the opening and installing the skylight on the roof. They placed it where it could not be cut out on the interior ceiling due to the roof support. An engineer and a master carpenter both said the skylight needed to be moved down further on the roof and off the joist. Robert Neilson refused to correct his mistake, and he reacted with arrogance and unprofessional conduct. It was very costly for me to hire a competent roofer to clean up their mess. I strongly recommend NOT hiring Robert or Bobby Neilson of Troutman Roofing. They are careless and incompetent, and apparently don't care to correct their sloppy work. Their unprofessional behavior and lack of customer service skills are dysfunction, to say the least. As we Texans say, "Robert Neilson is All Hat and No Cattle"! Best to Avoid Troutman Roofing of Troutman. (There is another Troutman Roofing in Kannapolis that is a decent company, and it is not associated with this low class Troutman Roofing owner.)
