Homeowners should be very wary of this company. Read the contract carefully, and have an attorney look it over. Although our plans called for materials of a certain quality, they bid our custom-built home as if it was a track home. (think cheapest windows, paint, and flooring they could find). Then they underbid the allowances (i.e. for a 6-bedroom home, they only bid $1,000 for lighting fixtures). Obviously, there is no way to pick cheap enough fixtures so we had to pay out of pocket for everything adding nearly $200,000 to the cost of our home. They left the construction materials all over the site, left debris and fencing on our property, and refused to clean up the mess. They also refused to complete the build based on plans. When we refused to sign the final payment until the punch list was completed; they threatened to remove the front doors to our home leaving it open to the wildlife and elements. The building they did do was of poor quality, my pantry shelves began to fall off the walls after just a few months, it turns out they were attached with only 1-inch nails (not enough to get through the drywall and into the frame). Our first-floor ceiling is leaking, our floor isn't level, our master bath shower doesn't drain correctly, and the list goes on. Finally, after two years of registry of contractor complaints about the house not being built to code, they hired an attorney to fight having to fix the issues the ROC identified. They come across as very nice and down to earth, but consumers beware. Do not hire Duffy Construction.
