Marion Hotel Historic Renovation

Dec 2014

The Marion Hotel is a three-story brick building constructed in 1908. The windows and doors are all boarded up. Shuttered since the mid-1970s, the place was once a lively family hotel. Bess Haney, the wife of a traveling salesman and mother of five ran the hotel from 1946 to 1971. Her son, Malcolm recalls: "It was the last place many army recruits stayed before they shipped off to boot camp because the U.S. Army recruiting center was across the street." The Haney's saw countless young servicemen from across the state off to the Vietnam and Korean wars over the years. Malcolm says, "It was a warm family place and Bess was the matriarch of the family." The 110-year-old, three-story building is the oldest downtown, and was empty and boarded up for two decades before it was purchased by the Midtown Renaissance Group in 2006. It didnt take long before partner Chris Fleming discovered why a series of owners abandoned any efforts to restore the hotel. Eden Windows and Doors was chosen to replace the windows on the building because our price was very competitive, and our products met the guidelines required by National Park Service.

Darlington Chapel

Jan 2010

Located just a short distance northwest of El Reno, Oklahoma, stands the historic Darlington Chapel. The original site was used by Darlington Indian Agency in the 1800's. The chapel's cornerstone was laid in 1913 by the Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. As time and weather took its toll, the structure it fell into disrepair. Redlands Community College of El Reno, Oklahoma acquired the chapel and went on a fundraising campaign to revitalize the building. In their efforts they were able to raise enough money to restore Darlington Chapel to it's former glory. The Eden Companies LLC was hired to replace the windows and doors on Darlington Chapel. We had to follow strict guidelines, as Darlington Chapel is on the National Historic Register.
