The reasons we have so many families now without homes and children being sent to school hungry are varied but most have a financial challenge at their core. Educating the family as to what changes will make a big difference and providing resources to accomplish these changes can certainly bring about a desired outcome. As a youngster I remember my family as not being overly well off but I can only imagine how my classroom attention and attitude would have been changed if I were feeling the effects of hunger as some of my classmates experienced, noting the sounds their stomachs were making! I didn't know much about homelessness then, but today it is hard not to see and hear about the suffering many families are experiencing. Having spent the majority of my adult life building, remodeling and repairing our area homes I am forming a professional network, compiled only of vetted masters in their respective trades to service and offer area homeowner benefits that have been too long lacking in our industry. As a non-profit we have dedicated resources we attain to be used as a force for good in our community. Our company mission: To help eliminate family homelessness and child hunger in the nation's capital area with a major donation from each sale directed to accomplish those aims!
